In the recent wake of Salisbury & Syria, let us begin at the end...
The "errors" of atheistic Russia forewarned by Our Lady of Fatima now saturate the West. Materialism — viz., cultural Marxism — rules. It has sucked the moral and spiritual lifeblood out of erstwhile Christian nations. Consequently, the Christian West has been replaced by the 'Wild West' — a selfish war of all against all; to include mothers against their unborn children in imitation of Lenin's original legalisation of abortion-on-demand. And what does the daily, industrial-scale extermination of their progeny portend for such suicidal nations? All that is left, as Mother Teresa once insisted, is a downward spiral into madness and despair, ending in nuclear annihilation.
This, finally, is where we find ourselves. For, contrary to media propaganda, it is not the post-Soviet Russian melange of ex-KGB officers, oligarchs and mafiosi but the godless 'leaders' of the Wild West and their 'advisers' — "Russia's errors" incarnate — who, through ever more insanemachinations and provocations, are intent on military confrontation.
In that sense, contemporary Russia is faced with a Western monster of Soviet making; one of totalising cultural-Marxist stripe that has even co-opted its anti-establishment, anti-warmongering nemesis, Donald Trump. Having righteously thundered during his campaign that "Hillary wants to start a shooting war in Syria in a conflict with nuclear-armed Russia which could lead to World War III," he is now the latest dupe of the military-industrial-intelligence complex that gave us the perpetual (and perpetually lucrative) "war on terror."
On that phoney pretext, the denizens of the Deep State set the Middle East ablaze; creating in the process a professional class of 'moderate jihadis' (read: extreme and uncontrollable Islamic mercenaries), while conjuring up the demonic ISIS. Nor will they rest until Syria and Iran are also reduced to ruins and chaos, whatever the cost in American blood and treasure, as demanded by the New Sanhedrin: the implacable Jewish electoral lobby (aka the "War Party") in Washington.
Since Our Lord told Sister Lucia that the Consecration of Russia to His Mother's Immaculate Heart will be done "very late," we live in hope of this miraculous intervention amid the mad rush to an unwinnable war. For only then, through a further but full Consecration of "Russia," will the world behold the stupendous Catholic conversion of that country and its Orthodox Church, and so venerate the Immaculate Heart alongside His Most Sacred Heart, as Jesus ardently desires. The spiritual flow-on effect to the Marxised West will then kick in.
Salisbury false-flag
To that end, especially during Our Lady's month of May, let us continue our daily prayers and efforts. At the same time, we should consider how it has come to this? How, for example, we arrived at a situation where many veteran political and intelligence insiders, such as Ray McGovern and Paul Craig Roberts, can justifiably surmise, in the face of relentless media propaganda to the contrary, that not Russian but, rather, British and American intelligence (and almost certainly Mossad) were behind the 4 March Salisbury poisoning of former Russian military intelligence officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter?
"I think it was a U.S. and U.K. false flag attack," insisted Roberts on 4 April. A renowned author, commentator and former Associate Editor of the Wall Street Journal, and Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury under President Reagan, he was in no doubt that "They almost killed these two people in order to demonise Putin. I don't think there's any doubt about that because the story was all ready, and there was no evidence."
A retired, highly decorated CIA officer who served the Agency from 1963 to 1990, McGovern concurs:
We intelligence analysts used to place a high premium on logic. ... [W]hat logical reason would the Russians have to do in this person, Skripal? There's no earthly reason or rationale I can think of. ... People are called 'Putin Puppets' for merely asking that long-established rules, guidelines, by the people who monitor these chemical weapons, should be observed. ... [P]eople should say, well, there's a regulation here, the Convention on Chemical Weapons, it's very specific: you give people time to respond. Well, that's all out the window. Because who cares about international law anymore?
Certainly not the Western elites, who have turned hypocrisy and mendacity into a grotesque art form. Another former CIA officer, Robert David Steele, was equally unimpressed by the telling haste (not to say stampede) to point the finger:
This is an agent [Skripal] that was pardoned by the Russian president, and released to the United Kingdom by Russia. I think he was killed by MI6 in a false flag provocation, seeking a last desperate attempt to derail the relationship between Trump and Putin. ... [U.S. Secretary of State, Rex] Tillerson made a huge mistake in accepting [PM Theresa May's] accusations against Putin, without evidence.
Since we rarely take at face value, either domestically or internationally, anything our third-rate political 'leaders' and their incompetent intelligence agencies tell us nowadays, why would we believe careerist Theresa May, or publicity-seeking Foreign secretary Boris Johnson, or dilettantish Defence secretary Gavin Williamson when it comes to their robotic response to the Salisbury and Douma attacks? Have we learnt nothing after so many years of fabricated evidence, false accusations, and mass murders at the service of the American empire and its European vassal states?
Indeed, the supine acceptance of these latest unsubstantiated 'Russia/Assad did it!' narratives is disorienting. One is left wondering if the Mother of All Deep State Deceptions — the blitzkrieg of lies and disinformation about Saddam Hussein, Iraq and WMDs — really happened? Perhaps it was just a bad dream? After all, no person/s or nation/s could possibly get away with serial bare-faced lying, lawlessness and bloodshed on such an epic scale, over so many years, in plain sight — and then repeat the dose elsewhere for good measure — could they?!
In the early 2000s, even the present writer viewed such an apocalyptic scenario as a step too far for the inveterate false-flaggers of the West. Thus, with shameful naivety, I gave Saddam's Neocon accusers the benefit of the doubt; albeit with trepidation and certainly not publicly in these pages because of deep misgivings. The extent of my ignorance about the deception perpetrated by Washington, its allies and their media megaphones only became apparent a few years later, however, when I finally read the broad-ranging essays gathered together by IHS Press in Neconned! Again: Hypocrisy, Lawlessness, and the Rape of Iraq: The Illegality and the Injustice of the Second Gulf War [2005], and Neoconned!: Just War Principles: A Condemnation of War in Iraq [2006]. Without these volumes, even those familiar with false-flags and media disinformation will never fully understand the scale of Western wickedness that fuelled the invasion of Iraq and all that followed. The mendacity, arrogance, and cold-blooded intent documented in these tomes would shock even the most hardened geo-political cynic. While the harsh reality-check they provide instantly inoculates one against all official narratives sold as gospel truth by the mainstream media.
For the well-informed, therefore, the only honest response to the Salisbury poisonings was a very simple one: could the Russians have done it? The obvious answer to which is, "yes". But talking political heads merely saying so doesn't make it so. Especially when immediate accusations of Russian involvement were soon found to be in dispute, if not clearly false.
It was déjà vu —the Ukraine crisis, the shooting down of Malaysian airline flight MH-17, the Ghouta and Khan Sheikhoun tragedies, colluding with Trump, etc. etc. — all over again. In those cases, Russia was instantly and furiously blamed, until evidence implicated other parties, at which point the media lost interest, failing to set the record straight: a loop that restarted as soon as Germany's public international broadcaster Deutsche Welle asked Boris Johnson how the UK had been able to find out so quickly that the poison originated from Russia.
Johnson eagerly replied that "Porton Down said in absolute categorical terms it was Russia." Not so. Porton Down defence research laboratory soon confirmed that they could not trace the Novichok nerve agent back to Russia with any certainty. Furthermore, after rather convenient early reports suggested Russia alone produced Novichok compounds, it turned out that although Russia developed them originally, several countries are likely to have also made small samples of the military-grade nerve agent — or at least know how to. Even its makeup is problematic. A supramolecular chemist at Brighton University stated: "I have seen over 25 chemical structures claiming to be Novichoks, but whether or not they have all actually been made cannot be verified."
These kinds of fly-in-the-ointment facts hardly featured in media headlines rushed out to the hapless public. But Russia is the easiest of targets. Even during the Cold War, when it was guilty most of the time, it was falsely accused on the basis of poor or contrived intelligence. "In the 1980s, President Reagan’s administration repeatedly accused the Soviet Union of supplying Vietnam with a biological weapon called Yellow Rain. But the scientific analysis proved to be staggeringly wrong: the mysterious substance was, in fact, just bee excrement." In response to their contradictory claims, the British retort that chemistry is only one part of their multi-faceted 'evidence'. Theresa May assures us she has also factored in Russia’s "record of conducting state sponsored assassinations – including against former intelligence officers." No argument there. Nor about Russian brutality in general [cf. Russia, CO, May 2007; Consecrating Russia to Exorcise the West, CO, Oct. & Nov. 2013] But British and U.S. intelligence agencies have never assassinated anybody? Really? Manifestly murdered by his own side in 2003, British chemical weapons expert Dr. David Kelly, for one, might object to May's duplicity.
This is the pattern of Western deceit to which we have become very sadly accustomed in the post-9/11 world. Ultimately, it is all down to treacherous forces within the United States government — the ones behind the destabilising and destructive foreign policy of "regime change" — who have corroded public trust in elected officials and institutions to a chronic and dangerous degree.
At the same time, we are also rightly wary of the Russians. They have fiercely contested the Salisbury finger-pointing as "mad accusations" that "have no foundation whatsoever," denouncing "irresponsible and basically indecent behaviour on the part of the British government." Yet they also know a thing or two about subversion and dezinformatia!
And so we find ourselves in a kind of no-man's land: embroiled in a new cold war without the clear lines and hard edges that defined the first one. What happened?
Scorpions in a bottle
Once upon a time, not so many decades ago, the Americans strode the globe as the 'white hats' — perceived as the good guys seeking truth and justice. If the exactitude of that caricature was sometimes questioned in the face of dark doings (which came to light less frequently before the internet), there was no doubting that the Soviets were the 'black hats' — seeking death (not least the death of God), destruction, and slave states at the service of their hellish ideology. Back then, the idea of moral equivalence between the two super powers — disseminated by Soviet agents and their Western 'useful idiots' (see Yuri Bezmenov, CO Nov. 2013, pp. 25-28) — was easily countered, especially by Catholic leaders like Father Paul Crane SJ (Christian Order)and Hamish Fraser (Approaches),who continually held Communism and its fellow travellers, especially those within the Church, to account.
After all, a country that killed and incarcerated tens of millions of its own people was hardly comparable with a country that did not. Whereas the Eastern power starved its citizens of the truth, propagandised them from cradle to grave, surveilled and controlled every aspect of their lives in Orwellian fashion, its Western counterpart appeared as a beacon of freedom. Even the crude strategy of harping on American failures to live up to democratic ideals, though effective, was not enough for Communism to occupy the moral high ground, since the hoi polloi largely sensed that Russian wickedness was intrinsic and ineradicable, while Western corruption, though common and lamentable, was not.
Undeterred by these obvious distinctions, the Soviets depicted the USA as dangerously duplicitous. Co-opting the democratic language and concepts of their enemy (not least the word "democracy"), the USSR falsely — risibly — presented itself as the living exemplar of those very terms and values. Books were written and conferences held by conservative Western leaders to refute this compelling propaganda: which portrayed the two super-powers as 'scorpions in a bottle', each as bad as the other.
All that said, unbeknown to pre-internet generations far more media-controlled than they could possibly imagine (as declassified documents repeatedly confirm), the Washington establishment had already amassed enough unspeakable skeletons in its Cold War closet to prefigure a tragic evolution and mutation. If it was not yet Moscow's sinister equivalent, it was well on the way to becoming the scorpion it always insisted it wasn't, as lawless foreign meddling and invasions escalated, and mass surveillance beyond even Stalin's wildest imaginings, mounted.
Covert template
This degeneration to amoral parity was mainly due to the KGB's counterpart, the CIA: to its countless bloody coups and black operations conducted worldwide during the Cold War. Carried out in the name of democracy, these murderous schemes have continued on to become de rigueur in our post-Soviet era. Operation Gladio, which left a flow of innocent victims in its wake, was an early brutal template of CIA ops to come.
To summarise: after World War II, with the help of NATO, the Pentagon, and US and Sicilian mafias, the Office of Strategic Services (OSS, predessor of the CIA) carried out covert false-flag bombings in Italy and other European countries. This violent campaign (Operation Gladio) was devised to blame the murder and mayhem on the Communists so that Europeans, through disinformation and hysteria whipped up by the media, would support NATO and the West against a Russian invasion. Decades later, when the truth came out, one former participant in these false-flag attacks confessed that
“You had to attack civilians, people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple. They were supposed to force these people, the Italian public, to turn to the State to ask for greater security”. [Choosing the Light, Cody Snodgress, p. 34]
Criminal alliances set up during Operation Gladio mutated thereafter, with American spies and criminals hooking up everywhere throughout Asia, Europe, and Central and South America. Gladio also spawned the wave of violence that paralysed Italy throughout the 1970s and 1980s — a battlefield overseen by a US-approved alliance between the Propaganda 2 masonic lodge and the mafia (the ill-gotten gains of which partnership were famously laundered through the Vatican bank). Known as the 'years of lead', official figures tallied 14,591 acts of politically-motivated violence between 1 January 1969 and 31 December 1987, in which 491 people died and 1,181 were injured.
A large number of terror attacks also took place in other European countries between 1965 and 1981. After a series of failed attempts to assassinate the French President, Charles De Gaulle denounced "the secret warfare of the Pentagon" and expelled the European headquarters of NATO.
In the early 1970s, a Latin American version of Operation Gladio was also launched, known as Operation Condor. It set that continent aflame in similar fashion; with death and destruction directed by the CIA at any government advocating "nationalisation of private industry (particularly foreign-owned corporations), radical land reform, autarkic trade policies, acceptance of Soviet aid, or an anti-American foreign policy." The grating use of the past participle "disappeared" as a verb in modern parlance emerged from that tragedy: owing to the hundreds of thousands of innocents who literally disappeared, never to be seen again, under CIA-backed military juntas.
False-flag derangement syndrome
In between, many other shocking black ops were conducted. Others were proposed but not followed through. In one of these unrealised plans we find the same hyper-arrogance and derangement that informs all the Neocon-inspired insanity from 9/11 up to the current anti-Russian narrative and false-flags.
After the failed invasion of the Bay of Pigs in April 1961, the Department of Defense and Joint Chiefs of Staff presented President Kennedy with a document entitled "Justification for US Military Intervention in Cuba", commonly called Operation Northwoods. It reveals such astonishing levels of treachery and psychosis on high that if a 'Northwoods Truth' group ever existed, they would still be dismissed as a bunch of 'conspiracy nuts' to this day if the operation had not been declassified in recent times, through the Freedom of Information Act (— most unfortunately for its perpetrators, who believed all incriminating evidence of the plans had been destroyed.) Indeed, after Northwoods, no false-flag scenario — to include the murder of several thousand Americans on 9/11 to precipitate a 'war on terror', or the repeated framing and provocation of Russia despite the risk of nuclear war — could ever be considered too improbable or ridiculous. In Body of Lies, James Bamford summarised the operation:
Operation Northwoods, which had the written approval of the Chairman and every member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, called for innocent people to be shot on American streets; for boats carrying refugees fleeing Cuba to be sunk on the high seas; for a wave of violent terrorism to be launched in Washington, D.C., Miami and elsewhere. People would be framed for bombings, they did not commit; planes would be hijacked. Using phony evidence, all of it would be blamed on Castro, thus giving [Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman, Army General] Lemnitzer and his cabal the excuse, as well as the public and international backing, they needed to launch their war.
There were other jaw-dropping proposals to boot. One even involved the exploitation of astronaut John Glenn, who was due to lift off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on 20 February 1962, for his historic orbit of the earth. The flight was to carry into space the banner of America's virtues of truth, freedom, and democracy. But Lemnitzer and his Chiefs proposed that, should the rocket explode and kill Glenn, "the objective is to provide irrevocable proof ... that the fault lies with the Communists et al Cuba [sic]." This would be accomplished, Lemnitzer said, "by manufacturing various pieces of evidence which would prove electronic interference on the part of the Cubans."
In distant echoes of the Twin Towers attack and the demented Neocon forces behind it, the Northwoods' deception involving hijacked planes was complex, including: a civilian aircraft with selected passengers boarded under carefully prepared aliases; a duplicate remotely-controlled drone aircraft; and a fake "May Day" message to be transmitted on the international distress frequency when over Cuba, falsely claiming to be under attack by Cuban MiG aircraft. At that point, wrote Lemnitzer and the Joint Chiefs:
The ["May Day"] transmission will be interrupted by the destruction of the aircraft, which will be triggered by radio signal. This will allow ICAO [International Civil Aviation Organization] radio stations in the Western Hemisphere to tell the U.S. what has happened to the aircraft instead of the U.S. having to "sell" the incident.
Fortunately, General Lemnitzer and his psychotic collaborators were deprived of their plane-hijacks, street bombs and mass murder of American citizens on U.S. soil by the reaction of JFK and his administration. On the afternoon of Tuesday, 13 March 1962, Lemnitzer checked last minute details of Operation Northwoods and signed the document. He then went to a "special meeting" with Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara, followed by another with Kennedy's military representative, General Maxwell Taylor. We don't know what transpired at those meetings, but three days later, President Kennedy told Lemnitzer that there was virtually no possibility that the United States would ever use overt military force in Cuba.
Yet still Lemnitzer and the Chiefs persisted, effectively demanding that they be given the authority to invade and take over Cuba. Within months, Lemnitzer was denied a second term as JCS chairman. (Sadly, however, this lunatic was not decommissioned but transferred to Europe as head of NATO. Later, President Ford even appointed him to his Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board.)
After his departure, the Joint Chiefs continued to put forward "pretext" operations at least into 1963. Proposals included creating a war between Cuba and any number of American neighbours, so America could then come in on the side of the neighbours. Jamaica and Trinidad-Tobago were among the suggested nations. Since they were Commonwealth countries, by secretly attacking them and then blaming Cuba, the U.S. could lure the U.K. into the war against Castro.
Recognising that "any of the contrived situations" described were "inherently, extremely risky in our democratic system," the report stated that care should be taken to ensure "participation by U.S. personnel is limited only to the most highly trusted covert personnel." Failing this plan, it was recommended that they "bribe one of Castro's subordinate commanders to initiate an attack on [the U.S. naval base at] Guantanamo" — an act of treason.
Due to the CIA sabotaging his Bay of Pigs operation, Kennedy also sacked CIA Director Allen Dulles and his two Deputy Directors. Possessed of a New World Order outlook at the outset of his presidency, his first-hand experience of this ruthless determination of NWO ideologues to impose their agenda seemed to be a turning point for Kennedy. Thereafter, he not only spoke openly about destroying the CIA, in June 1963 he also signed Executive Order 11110, that re-established the American government's ability to issue its own currency; a sovereign power it hadn't exercised for several decades. Bringing nearly $4.3 billion worth of U.S. currency into circulation (backed by silver deposits in the U.S. Treasury vaults), he thereby circumvented the all-powerful private banking club known as the Federal Reserve, putting the "Fed" and the International Bankers out of the business of raping the American public.
It was too good to last, of course. Whatever his enemies already held against JFK, these moves effectively sealed his fate. As did his apparent intention to blow the whistle on the Shadow Government. On 12 November 1963, President Kennedy stated:
"The high office of President has been used to foment a plot to destroy the Americans' freedom, and before I leave office I must inform the citizen of this plight."
Ten days later he was assassinated. Although the evidence pointed to multiple players and parties in the conspiracy, the operation was clearly overseen and covered up by the CIA — whose ex-Director Allen Dulles, sacked by Kennedy, was then appointed to the notorious Warren Commission that duly whitewashed the investigation of the presidential murder! One of the most egregious conflicts of interest in American political history, his appointment to the Commission was made by arguably the most corrupt president of all time, Lyndon Baines Johnson, whose detestation of the Kennedys outdid even that of Dulles.
Theoretical vis-à-vis factual
It was then that the CIA popularised the phrase "conspiracy theory": to discredit any departure from the Warren Commission's official narrative/cover-up. It has been used ever since to great neutralising effect, not least against those daring to debunk the current demonisation of Russia (the real conspiracy), and/or question the official 9/11 narrative (which interrogation the history of Operation Northwoods alone surely demands).
"Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories concerning the attacks of Sept. 11, malicious lies that attempt to shift the blame away from the terrorists themselves, away from the guilty," parroted G.W. Bush on supine cue. But then his father, G.H.W. Bush, was not only an ex-CIA Director but a man who could not tell us often enough that he could "see a New World Order coming into view." A new world of disorder, in fact, which just happened to crystallise at warp speed after 9/11, precisely one year after the Neoconservatives urged the NWO to be hurried along. In September 2000, as part of their "Project for the New American Century," they issued a paper that called for an increased U.S. military presence overseas, especially in the Middle East, sooner rather than later:
The process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor.

The plan was always plainly and publicly voiced, for those paying attention. As Pat Buchanan explained in 2004:
In 1996, in a strategy paper crafted for Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu, Richard Perle, Douglas Feith and David Wurmser urged him to “focus on removing Saddam Hussein from power” as an “Israeli strategic objective.” Perle, Feith, Wurmser were all on Bush's foreign policy team on 9-11.
In 1998, eight members of Bush's future team, including Perle, Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld, wrote President Clinton urging upon him a strategy that “should aim, above all, at the removal of Saddam Hussein.”
On Jan. 1, 2001, nine months before 9-11, Wurmser called for U.S.-Israeli attacks “to broaden the [Middle East] conflict to strike fatally . . . the regimes of Damascus, Baghdad, Tripoli, Teheran and Gaza . . . to establish the recognition that fighting with either the United States or Israel is suicidal.”
“Crises can be opportunities,” added Wurmser.
On Sept. 11, opportunity struck.

A rather convenient opportunity for the likes of Perle, Feith, Wolfowitz et. al.: ardent Zionist-personifications of the "errors" Our Lady forewarned would "spread... throughout the world" if Russia was not consecrated to her Immaculate Heart. Indeed, it is hard to recall her warning — that this failure would cause "wars and persecutions against the Church," "the good" to be "martyred" and "various nations" to be "annihilated" — without thinking of the rise of the Neocons, the fallout from 9/11 (to include today's lethal Russia-baiting), and the CIA's central role in everything.
Russian General Leonid Ivashov, who was Chief of Staff of the Russian Armed Forces when the Twin Towers attacks occurred, immediately reacted to the cover-up, logically pointing out that
Osama bin Laden and “Al Qaeda” cannot be the organizers nor the performers of the September 11, 2001 attacks. They do not have the necessary organization, resources, or leaders. Thus, a team of professionals had to be created and the Arab kamikazes are just extras to mask the operation. The September 11 operation modified the course of events in the world in the direction chosen by transnational Mafias and international oligarchs; that is, those who hope to control the planet’s natural resources, the world information network, and the financial flows. This operation also favored the US economic and political elite that also seeks world dominance.

Certainly, the types of fortunes made on the basis of the attacks speak to the truth of the General's assessment.(1) As do insider intelligence accounts by the likes of Susan Landauer, a former FBI agent with first-hand knowledge that "They had known about the terrorist attack for months... a long term advance knowledge." Underlining that 9/11 plane hijacker "Mohammed Atta was an asset, trained [and] supervised by the United States government," she considers that both hijackings and a controlled demolition were used to bring down the Towers, to ensure "maximum damage" that alone would allow "a government pro-war cabal to throw itself into a new war with Iraq. Which they wanted to do. They’d already decided to do it. And so, that is the motivation," she reasoned during a September 2011 lecture that detailed her direct personal knowledge and experience of what transpired behind the scenes.
In response to the catch-all "conspiracy theory" smear used to dismiss this kind of first-hand unravelling of false narratives, one can only say that there is nothing theoretical about facts. And both world and modern American history are littered with factual conspiracies. They don't get more factual than the one that targetted General Smedley Butler; at the time of his death in 1940 the most decorated Marine in U.S. history. Secretly approached to plan a coup, Butler was told by the organisers that the American people would accept a new Government because they controlled all the newspapers. A BBC documentary explained there was
A planned coup in the USA in 1933 by a group of right wing American businessmen... The coup was aimed at toppling President Franklin D. Roosevelt with the help of half a million War veterans. The plotters, who were alleged to involve some of the most famous families in America (owners of Heinz, Birds Eye, Goodtea, Maxwell House, and George [W] Bush’s grandfather, Prescott) believed that their country should adopt the policies of Hitler and Mussolini to beat the great depression.
Even President Obama's "Information Czar", Cass Sunstein, willingly conceded that "Some conspiracy theories, under our definition, have turned out to be true... The Watergate hotel room used by the Democratic National Committee was, in fact, bugged by Republican officials, operating at the behest of the White House. In the 1950's," he went on, "the CIA did, in fact, administer LSD and related drugs under Project MKUltra, in an effort to investigate the possibility of mind control."
Which brings us back to the CIA, whose corruption and treason does not require the least conspiratorial speculation, since it is attested by those who know it best.
Who's the meddler, then?
Robert David Steele served the CIA with distinction in the Clandestine Service (1979-1988) while a U.S. Marine Infantry Intelligence Adjutant (1976-1996). His exemplary productivity led to appointment as #2 civilian responsible for establishing US Marine Intelligence. Against the backdrop of these latest atrocities attributed to Russia, consider what Steele writes about the danger the politicised CIA poses worldwide:
The fact is, the U.S. intelligence community is a fraud. And now it's a dangerous fraud, because since 9/11 the NSA has basically been surveiling, spying on all U.S. politicians, and the C.I.A. has been blackmailing U.S. politicians, including Senator John McCain and Senator Lindsey Graham.
And, the same is true overseas. The American intelligence money has corrupted other intelligence services, certainly including the Australian intelligence service, as well as the United Kingdom.
And, we now know that, and I've written eight books on this point, we now know that the craft of intelligence is a very righteous, decent craft. Its about decision support. It's about knowing what the question is, knowing who knows, collection management, processing the information from many sources, properly visualizing it, and then presenting it to a decision maker on a single index card with three colors: red, yellow and green. OK, so the craft of intelligence is very, very important.
The intelligence community [today] does not do intelligence. It does spies and secrecy that promote war and waste and bribery. It does not do decision support.
That the Agency is a textbook case of absolute power corrupting absolutely is no wild theory. Declassified documents and government investigations and hearings — voluminous and chilling — detail the illegal and heinous activities of the CIA within America and abroad. It is also laid out in works like Operation Gladio: The Untold Story of the Unholy Alliance Between the Vatican, the CIA, and the Mafia (2015). A densely footnoted work, author Paul Williams quotes FBI whistle-blower Sibel Edmonds as saying:
“Between 1996 and 2002, we, the United States, planned, financed, and helped execute every major terrorist incident by Chechen rebels (and the Mujahideen) against Russia. Between 1996 and 2002, we, the United States, planned, financed, and helped execute every single uprising and terror related scheme in Xinjiang (aka East Turkistan and Uyhurstan). Between 1996 and 2002, we, the United States, planned and carried out at least two assassination schemes against pro-Russian officials in Azerbaijan.”
These kinds of facts make media hype about 'Russian meddling' in other peoples' business such a sick joke. No-one does foreign meddling like America. As Pat Buchanan has underlined, for all the whinging and whining about Russian hacking, the CIA created cyberwarfare!
Since the end of the Cold War, the U.S. has used cyberwarfare to sabotage centrifuges in the Iranian nuclear plant in Natanz. We have backed “color-coded” revolutions in half a dozen countries from Serbia to Ukraine to Georgia — to dump rulers and regimes we do not like, all in the name of democracy.
Unsurprisingly, today, Russia, China, Egypt and even Israel are shutting down or booting out NGOs associated with the United States, and hacking into websites of U.S. institutions.
We were the first “experts” to play this game. Now others know how to play it. We reap what we sow.

The following statement, made by a Republican representative on a Congressional committee, confirms the sort of shameless hypocrisy deplored by Buchanan. In a devastating contribution to the hearing, he revealed that when it came to foreign elections, the Obama administration not only meddled and manipulated, it did so by way of Saudi and Chinese loans funnelled to Soros organisations for the printing and dissemination of Marxist (Alinskyite) propaganda!
It’s pretty clear that the Obama administration sent their people over to Israel to work against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Pretty much openly. Significant dollars invested in that campaign, over there. The President of the United States, with at least the moral support of the people who had worked for him, in the country of Israel, seeking to shift the results of the election, against the seated Prime Minister, Bibi Netanyahu.
[...] I just came back not that long ago from the Balkans, where I sat in a place like Macedonia. And there I learned that the United States government, borrowing money from China and Saudi Arabia, had handed over somewhere, at least 5 million dollars in contracts transferred through USAID into George Soros organisations that were used to manipulate elections in the Balkans. And that’s just particularly Macedonia, not including the neighbouring countries that are there. And some of that money was used to translate Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals into Macedonian, to distribute the books, and the Rules for Radicals and the actions of radicals were manifested in the election efforts in that part of the world.
So, I would say that the Obama administration is a long ways from clean on this, as far as being involved in the elections in other countries. Not to mention little comments like [those to] the British, "if you vote Brexit you’re gonna have to go to the back of the [trade] queue".
Both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are open and proud disciples of Saul Alinsky. Obama was even trained as an Alinsky "community organiser" (Marxist agitator). Thus, in the concrete example above we see how Russia's "errors", having infected America via the likes of Alinsky, "spread throughout the world" through interference in the business of sovereign nations (to include Vatican City and Church affairs).
The subversion is so chronic that even the mainstream media — controlled both in America and Europe by the CIA through Operation Mockingbird (see CO, February & March 2017) — is occasionally forced to suspend the spin and face the facts. On 17 February 2018, pausing for breath amid its daily hammering of all things Trump and Russian, the New York Times effectively debunked the entire Russian-hacking/meddling beat up that it has led from the front!
Bags of cash delivered to a Rome hotel for favored Italian candidates. Scandalous stories leaked to foreign newspapers to swing an election in Nicaragua. Millions of pamphlets, posters and stickers printed to defeat an incumbent in Serbia. The long arm of Vladimir Putin? No, just a small sample of the United States' history of intervention in foreign elections.
[...] "If you ask an intelligence officer, did the Russians break the rules or do something bizarre [during the 2016 election], the answer is no, not at all," said Steven L. Hall, who retired in 2015 after 30 years at the C.I.A., where he was the chief of Russian operations. The United States "absolutely" has carried out such election influence operations historically, he said, "and I hope we keep doing it."
[...] Loch K. Johnson, the dean of American intelligence scholars, who began his career in the 1970s investigating the C.I.A. as a staff member of the Senate's Church Committee, says Russia's 2016 operation was simply the cyber-age version of standard United States practice for decades, whenever American officials were worried about a foreign vote.
The elitist, shadowy government
The litany of CIA false-flag attacks, assassinations, coups and unimaginable 'collateral damage' (totalling millions of deaths of innocent people down the decades) is too long to list. Its infamous Iran-Contra operation alone involved more rank criminality and treasonous acts than is possible to fully record here. But in our present context of establishing that there is no undertaking too outrageous or homicidal for the CIA and its European intelligence proxies, let us sum it up very briefly:
In order to circumvent a Congressional ban on funding the "Contra" guerillas in their civil war against the Marxist government of Nicaragua, the CIA smuggled countless tons of cocaine into America, sold it in major cities across the country via criminal networks (thereby addicting untold numbers to crack cocaine), and used the monies to send guns and combat kits back to the Contras. In the process, everyone got their cut of the financial action. This part of the Iran-Contra scam was famously related by brave investigative reporter Gary Webb in Dark Alliance: The CIA, the Contras, and the Crack Cocaine Explosion (1998). Webb was hounded to an early death by the CIA and its Mockingbird media for telling the truth, which was actually much worse than even he realised.(2)
Butit did not stop there. It was far more complex.
The extent of fraud and corruption among criminal corporate and government networks associated with Iran-Contra was staggering. Though it spanned both the major political parties, at its very heart were the CIA and the entire Bush family (— its patriarch, G.H.W. Bush, having been a lifelong intelligence operative before becoming Director of the CIA itself on his way to becoming Vice-President and President of the USA). As ever, hapless American taxpayers were left to pick up the colossal tab.
Uniquely uncensored, The Conspirators [2001], a little known work by former Naval Intelligence officer and Iran-Contra insider, Al Martin, fully details this vast white-collar criminal enterprise conducted under the convenient cover of a "War Against Communism" (now replaced by the equally convenient "War Against Terror"). Suffice to say for now that when George Bush Snr, CIA Director Bill Casey, and the infamous Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North initiated their plan of government-sanctioned fraud and drug smuggling, they envisioned using 500 men to raise $35 billion. When Iran-Contra finally fell apart, they ended up using about 5,000 operatives and making over $350 billion in covert revenues. By that time, several hundred mid-level operatives/'stakeholders' (at least) had been murdered to cover the trail of criminality; other higher-ups being lucratively pensioned off to keep them quiet.
Much of Martin's explosive information is not documented or even alluded to in the published findings of the official investigations to which he provided stark and lengthy evidence (it being continually censored or sealed for reasons of 'national security'). But there were more than enough sordid revelations for Senator Daniel K. Inouye, Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Secret Military Assistance to Iran and the Nicaraguan Opposition, which held public hearings on the Iran-Contra affair, to explain the cover-up of the Deep State's involvement in this affair in following terms. During his closing statement of 3 August 1987, he stated that testimony given by Iran-Contra overseers revealed
a shadowy Government with its own Air Force, its own Navy, its own fundraising mechanism, and the ability to pursue its own ideas of the national interest, free from all checks and balances, and free from the law itself.
It is an elitist vision of government that trusts no-one; not the people, not the congress, and not the cabinet. It is a vision of a government operated by persons convincedthey have a monopoly on truth. ... Oliver North could describe with enthusiasm, [CIA Director] Dr. Casey's plan for a private off-the-shelf organisation that would conduct covert operations forbidden to the CIA, with funds generated from the sale of U.S. arms. [Reagan National Security Advisor] John Poindexter could say, that this all sounded like a good idea, maintain that congress had no meaningful role in foreign policy, and act secure in the belief that the President would have approved the diversion of funds.[(3)
In solemn tones, the Senator went on to say that he believed the Iran-Contra hearings would ultimately be remembered "not for the facts they elicited, but for the extraordinary, and extraordinarily frightening views of government they exposed. ... However," he added, "we may never know, with precision and truth, why they ever happened."
Secrecy
Here, the Senator touches on a key element of the Deep State: secrecy. Large-scale CIA criminality, or proposed criminality like Operation Northwoods, remains secret for decades, often legally "sealed" forever, despite the need for transparency due its global repercussions. In fact, clandestine dealings that originated with Iran-Contra did not suddenly stop with the Senator's closing statement. Far from it. Yet nothing is heard of its ongoing frauds; old scams occasionally dusted off and rebooted for the financial benefit of the original conspirators, as explained by Al Martin.
In another shocking insider-memoir, Choosing the Light: Dark Secrets of the Oklahoma City Bombings [2015], former black ops veteran Cody Snodgress notes that
De-bunkers of actual conspiracies, and/or alleged conspiracy theories, will fall back on the old cover up ploy of “well... if there had really been something this big happening, someone would have spilled the beans... there’s just no way anyone could keep a secret like this so big”. Really? What about the US top secret Manhattan Project, to develop the world’s first atomic bomb? Over 130,000 people from Canada, Britain, the US, along with German scientists all worked on it... but it was kept secret for years. Today, many secrets from World War Two are still classified by the US and other Governments. Many files on the Kennedy brothers' assassinations still remain classified, etc.
Snodgress offers this good explanation of the secrecy process by reporter/whistle-blower Daniel Ellsberg, as quoted in a WashingtonBlog posting of 25 May 2011:
It is commonplace that “you can’t keep secrets in Washington” Or “in a democracy, no matter how sensitive the secret, you’re likely to read it the next day in the New York Times”. These truisms are flatly false. They are in fact cover stories, ways of flattering and misleading journalists and their readers, part of the process of keeping secrets well. Of course eventually many secrets do get out that wouldn’t in a fully totalitarian society. But the fact is that the overwhelming majority of secrets do not leak to the American public. This is true even when the information withheld is well known to an enemy and when it is clearly essential to the functioning of the Congressional war power and to any democratic control of foreign policy. The reality unknown to the public and to most members of Congress and the press is that secrets that would be of the greatest import to many of them can be kept from them reliably for decades by the executive branch, even though they are known to thousands of insiders.
Then there is Marshall McLuhan's insight that "Only the small secrets need to be protected. The big ones are kept secret by public incredulity." How true. Despite millions protesting the 2003 Iraq invasion, relatively few believed, even hypothetically, that anyone other than a certain Eastern superpower would use non-existent WMDs as a pretext to invade a foreign country posing absolutely no threat whatsoever to that power: then kill, disable and displace millions of its impoverished inhabitants — all to suit Israel's designs for the Middle East. And now, again misdirected, an incredulous public cannot conceive that Western intelligence, not Assad or Putin, might well have poisoned innocent people for similar ulterior purposes.
The naked truth is that the 'ends justifies the means' mentality of amoral Deep State overseers — as brutally evidenced in Gladio, Iran-Contra hearings and the Northwoods blueprint — makes it entirely possible. Even probable.
The 'other' government
Mike Lofgren served for twenty-eight years (1983-2011) as a Republican Congressional aide, including 16 years on the powerful House and Senate Budget Committees (1995-2011). He specialised in national security and possessed a top secret security clearance. Since leaving Washington he has written at length about the Deep State based on his lengthy experience. He describes it in these summary terms:
There is the visible government situated around the Mall in Washington, and then there is another, more shadowy, more indefinable government that is not explained in Civics 101 or observable to tourists at the White House or the Capitol. The former is traditional Washington partisan politics: the tip of the iceberg that a public watching C-SPAN sees daily and which is theoretically controllable via elections. The subsurface part of the iceberg I shall call the Deep State, which operates according to its own compass heading regardless of who is formally in power.
The term “Deep State” was coined in Turkey and is said to be a system composed of high-level elements within the intelligence services, military, security, judiciary and organized crime. ... I use the term to mean a hybrid association of elements of government and parts of top-level finance and industry that is effectively able to govern the United States without reference to the consent of the governed as expressed through the formal political process.

This 'other government' is not only engaged in a local war to the death against President Trump and his agenda to restore U.S. sovereignty, it runs the American empire regardless of the president or the party of the moment, imposing its hegemonic will on American vassal states in Europe and all over. At once unaccountable, seditious, and globalist, it possesses stupendous technological capabilities and resources — all funded by trillion-dollar black budgets which are publicly acknowledged and periodically decried (as in 2003 by Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld himself!), yet never transparently itemised, scrutinised or wound back.
The incalculable amounts that disappear into these black holes not only fund the never-ending black ops and coups carried out with impunity, but the mega-corporations with their snouts in the public trough. Meanwhile, explains Lofgren, as Congress struggles to maintain basic public services and dilapidated U.S. infrastructure goes from bad to worse, the insatiable Deep State continues to destabilise and intensify electronic surveillance of the entire world:
During the time in 2011 when political warfare over the debt ceiling was beginning to paralyze the business of governance in Washington, the United States government somehow summoned the resources to overthrow Muammar Ghaddafi’s regime in Libya, and, when the instability created by that coup spilled over into Mali, provide overt and covert assistance to French intervention there. At a time when there was heated debate about continuing meat inspections and civilian air traffic control because of the budget crisis, our government was somehow able to commit $115 million to keeping a civil war going in Syria and to pay at least £100m to the United Kingdom’s Government Communications Headquarters to buy influence over and access to that country’s intelligence. Since 2007, two bridges carrying interstate highways have collapsed due to inadequate maintenance of infrastructure, one killing 13 people. During that same period of time, the government spent $1.7 billion constructing a building in Utah that is the size of 17 football fields. This mammoth structure is intended to allow the National Security Agency to store a yottabyte of information, the largest numerical designator computer scientists have coined. A yottabyte is equal to 500 quintillion pages of text. They need that much storage to archive every single trace of your electronic life.
Although at its highest levels it depends on secrecy, blackmail, and the well-grounded fear of breaking ranks, Lofgren rightly points out that this "state within a state is hiding mostly in plain sight, and its operators mainly act in the light of day." Nor can it be accurately termed an "establishment" in the received sense of a social network committed to its own enrichment and perpetuation, which one finds in all complex societies. It is, he says, another creature altogether because "In terms of its scope, financial resources and sheer global reach, the American hybrid state, the Deep State, is in a class by itself."
Shedding light
Starting with this edition we will set forth the various organisational components, motivations, modus operandi, and notable members of this globalist entity; also referencing more of its murderous operations which have trampled over national and international laws to ruin and extinguish so many lives. To that end, we will draw on the first-hand experience of ex-officials of the Deep State itself, or those who have either worked alongside or have expert knowledge of it, through transcriptions of their lectures, interviews and/or discussions. This seems the most accessible and authoritative means of conveying the complexities of the sprawling subject to readers. Exhibit A in this regard will be our serialisation of a lecture given by Kevin Shipp, one of a select number of former CIA officers now risking their own lives and livelihoods as well as the lives of their families, to tell the truth about the out-of-control Agency at the heart of the Deep State; an organisation they once served with distinction.
Among much else, the information provided will shed helpful light on how the interventionist Deep State has managed to exercise control over a non-interventionist President. As we noted in our June/July 2017 number, Trump's illegal bombing of Syria on 7 April 2017 did not augur well. In the face of hysterical Mockingbird-media coverage to the contrary, we related that the tragedy inflicted on the jihadi-occupied town of Khan Sheikhoun was not a chemical weapons attack by Assad. As confirmed by retired CIA officer Ray McGovern, it was the unintended consequence of a legitimate bombing mission of which U.S. military-intelligence was fully apprised in advance, in accordance with established Moscow-Washington protocols.
The incident spoke Deep State volumes because the President was misled and talked into drastic criminal retaliation by the likes of General McMaster, his then-National Security Adviser and quintessential Deep State apparatchik. McMaster's well remunerated work with a globalist think-tank associated with the Clinton Foundation, while still in active service, disgusted even his military peers. He was eventually shown the door. But his replacement, warmonger John Bolton, is even worse!
The Bolton announcement was made on 22 March, just 9 days after Trump tweeted his intention to nominate Gina Haspel for CIA Director (a woman who supervised extreme CIA torture sessions, then destroyed video tapes of said sessions despite a White House command not to do so). Shortly prior to these announcements, the Skripals were poisoned (4 March), while the chemical weapons' attack of 7 April attributed to Assad and Russia occurred just two days before Bolton took up his new position. Whatever else may be said about these latest 'coincidental' developments, they serve Deep State interests to the detriment of everyone else's.
Truly, if "moral equivalence" was once a baseless Cold War charge hurled at America by cynical Soviet thugs, it now rings true. For, today, in that hypothetical bottle, there really are two scorpions. And if the Eastern one was Heaven's original instrument of chastisement, its Western love child — spawned by "Russia's errors" — is currently the one false-flagging us to Deep State Armageddon.

The drug ring was even bigger than I had portrayed. And agents and officials of the DEA [Drug Enforcement Agency] had protected the traffickers from arrest, something I’d not been allowed to print.”
