Hopeful History
In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness, and
the darkness did not comprehend it.
- John 1:4-5
On the third day, the lifeless body that lay in the tomb rose to LIFE. The primeval darkness was conquered by the eternal LIGHT. The father of lies—the prince of this world—was vanquished, utterly, by the Prince of Peace; the Supreme and Absolute TRUTH.
Co-equal with the Life, the Light and the Truth that shattered the Luciferian chains of Sin and Death was the agonising LOVE that also burst forth triumphant from the sepulchre. Our heavenly Father Himself stressed this to Saint Catherine of Siena while schooling her in the virtues:
"... No virtue can have life in it except from charity, and charity is nursed and mothered by humility. You will find humility in the knowledge of yourself when you see that even your own existence comes not from yourself but from me, for I loved you before you came to being. And in my unspeakable love for you I willed to create you in grace. So I washed you and made you a new creation in the blood that my only-begotten Son poured out with such burning love." [Dialogues, ch. 4]
Not that you'd notice! Free will and the lingering effects of the Fall being what they are, the triumph of the Resurrection — the "new creation" brought forth by the "burning love" of Our Lord's Sacred Passion — hardly jumps out at us. A sulphurous anti-culture still persists because the darkness remains both uncomprehending and ascendant. The prideful heirs of the devils put to flight in 33AD have a dominant grip on the most strategic secular and ecclesiastical levers; the "switching points" of power, as the late heretic Hans Küng proudly boasted.
The Long Night
A secular commentator recently reflected on a pervasive "sense of defeated fatalism coupled with depressive realism. The news cycle is bad, and watching it begets only depression, not change."
Indeed. Especially where it concerns the most vulnerable and defenceless. That 'Joe Biden will promote abortions up to birth in his upcoming State of the Union address' — clearly 65.5 million babies killed since 1973 is not enough! — or that 'France has become the first country to make abortion a constitutional right' — another masonic seed blossoms! — and so on ad nauseam, are workday headlines hardly destined to lift our spirits. Even less so those that regularly trumpet the hellish source of the contemporary slaughterhouse-cum-death cult.
Typically, 'University of Houston Erects Satanic Idol to Celebrate Abortion' apprised us of "an 18-foot tall naked female figure with braids shaped like goat horns and arms like tentacles" that the Houston academics are "proud" to display throughout this year. Their corrupted minds devilishly inverted the honouring of child sacrifice into "a platform for artistic expression that encourages critical reflection and exploration of important issues." Pointing out that the idol also bears the word "havah," which means "air," "to breathe," "atmosphere" and "Eve" in Arabic and Hebrew, Texas pro-lifers also noted that the 'artist' responsible for the abomination, Shahzia Sikander, once praised Eve as "the first law-breaker."
In rejecting Good Friday to embraceOriginal Sin, Sikander's "artistic expression" thus embodies the present darkness; a perverse state of affairs that explains the foul "air" and poisonous "atmosphere" inhaled and exhaled en masse every second of every day — as prophesied on 2 February 1634 by Our Lady of Good Success.
"[T]he spirit of impurity... will saturate the atmosphere in those [20th century] times. Like a filthy ocean, it will inundate the streets, squares and public places with an astonishing liberty," she told Mother Mariana in Quito. This underlined her earlier prophecy of 2 February 1610 about our modern age of "depraved desolation" in which "The vices of impurity, blasphemy, and sacrilege will dominate." Fingering the "terrible hordes of the Masonic sect" for this wholesale depravity that would afflict Ecuador, Our Lady's vivid depictions effectively foretold the nihilistic airwaves now blanketing our wireless earth 24/7 with odourless but deadly naturalism:Masonic carbon monoxide that kills supernatural life.
This "almost total and general corruption of customs" that Our Lady predicted and which has duly materialised on a global scale, holds no place for the Resurrection and the worship of Our Lord and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Since nature abhors a worshipful vacuum, however, this unholy lacuna provides a market opportunity. The out-and-proud Luciferianism of Houston University is merely indicative.
Entire nations are filling that vacuum. The frightening decline in church attendance in Italy, for instance, has seen the locals simply swapping Catholic rituals for ancient forms of pagan idolatry. Beneath a tell-all headline, 'Italian Catholics reverting to ancient Roman gods, seers and sorcerers,' the Catholic Herald reported on 5 March that the occult industry in Italy is now worth 8 billion euros annually. The amount is dizzying yet adds up when you crunch the numbers. A 2017 study by the Centre for Studies on New Religions (based in Turin, a perennial occult hot-spot) discovered that the number of neopagans in Italy has grown by a staggering 143 per cent over the last 10 years. The Herald also cited these findings from a 2023 survey: "34 per cent of Italians believe or engage in necromancy, 24 per cent in black magic, 19 per cent in predicting the future with cards, 18 per cent in white magic, and 17 per cent in psychic or occultic healers."
A similar reckoning throughout the West would reveal the satanic trend as ubiquitous and relentless. In the 1990s, for example, scholars ascertained that just 8,000 Americans were practising paganism. In 2001 that number had grown to 134,000, and by last year to an alarming 1.5 million. Yet as with internet-fuelled pornography, it is clear that far more Americans engage in occult practices, since the industry raked in $2.3 billion in 2023!
Long before he was finally done to death in Auschwitz, while he and his mighty Militia Immaculata were warring against Freemasonry, Saint Maximilian Kolbe echoed Our Lady of Good Success in stating: "Modern times are dominated by Satan and will be more so in the future." Eighty years after his demise, perhaps the only aspect of that dominance St. Maximilian might not have foreseen is the wholly dispiriting sight of a forked-tongue pontiff making common cause with the Masonic arch-enemy of the Way, the Truth and the Life: a papacy of intermittent nods to Catholic teaching on life, family and the occult — e.g., "[reject] magicians, fortune tellers, [or] sorcerers, [beware] becoming idol-addicts" (2020 Epiphany homily) — yet one that simultaneously wars against promoters and defenders of orthodoxy, stuffs dicasteries with Modernists, and facilitates Pachamama idolatry in St. Peter's. A pontificate, moreover, that not only lauds iconic leaders of the prevailing pagan death cult, but installs them as Vatican consultants on abortion and population control. [CO passim].
"During that ["20th century"] epoch the Church will find herself attacked by terrible hordes of the Masonic sect...," Our Lady informed Mother Mariana during her 2 February 1610 apparition. "[A]nd that one who should speak out will be silent." This mysterious personage could be anyone, of course. But it does call to mind a certain pontiff whose unholy silence includes, among much else:
- failure to exalt Absolute Catholic Truth and "preach on the housetops" [Lk 12:3];
- studious omission of the holy name of Jesus in public discourse;
- refusal to respond to grave charges made against him by his own cardinals;
- deafening silence before public scandals that affront the Faith and the papal office; like the telling failure to correct the repeated insistence of his late masonic confidant Eugenio Scalfari that he privately refutes the Divinity of Christ.
This altogether subversive reticence is especially jarring when juxtaposed with his garrulous promotion of the heterodox and heretical. It is hardly a stretch, therefore, to view Jorge as the Silent One upbraided by Our Lady. And we should hope so! For then we might expect the appearance of the Providential "Prelate" whom she promised will be key to turning things around when all seems lost; expressly in Ecuador, but implicitly, through his influence on the Pope of the day, throughout the world.[1] However, since we cannot adjudge for sure if the evil has finally bottomed out with Jorge, we should hope for the best but expect the worst.
Even as we dutifully plead for the Divine derailment of the freight trains of evil now hurtling towards us from multiple directions, it would be imprudent to expect anything less than the total immolation of Calvary before the agitating demons of the global coup are finally put to flight in Church and State. We must hope and pray but not assume that this diabolic mockery of a papacy is as bad as it gets. For we are told, "The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you" [Jn 15:20]. And so it is the Cross that sets the 11-year Bergoglian blight in sober context: as not necessarily the end but possibly the mere start of the re-crucifixion of Christ, and the hell on earth forewarned by Our Lady: when not only "the corruption of morals will be almost general," but "the precious light of Faith almost extinguished."
Despite its relentless smothering through 100+ years of Modernist agitation and now a lawless pontiff, that near total suffocation of the Faith is not yet upon us. And until it unmistakably is — until such time as the last gasp of Holy Mother Church is made manifest and the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart is ushered in — we should realistically expect that the "abyss of sin" into which the self-serving are leading the manipulated will deepen and broaden, as the occult hands atop the global pyramid of money and power — the faceless Masonic forces over and above the Goldman Sachs alumni, billionaire bagmen and Davos placemen — finally knit together all the interwoven facets of their asymmetric total war on God and man; of which their Operation Francis (to include Francis 2.0, doubtless well in the works) is such a key cataclysmic component.
The Breaking Dawn
Why dwell on these dark and sinister realities and possibilities within and without Holy Church at this joyous time? Simply to underline the obvious: that the pain of Good Friday and Holy Saturday precedes and gives rise to Easter Sunday. Not only is there no other route to the empty tomb, it was the agony itself that vivified the ecstasy; the suffering that animated the joy; the torture and death of Our Saviour that alone restored our liberty and life. And just as His Passion duly passed, so will the current Passion of His Mystical Body. Only then will demonic hostilities abruptly cease as self-regarding puppets high and low (Bergoglio, Biden, Obama, Trudeau, Macron, Kurz, Ardern, Zelensky, Carney, Sunak, Starmer, Bloomberg, Gates, Schwab, the Clintons et. al. ad nauseam) suddenly find themselves on the ash heap of history like all the puffed-up pseudo-elites before them. Only then — at rock bottom — will the Church rise again to re-evangelise and re-civilise the world amid the ecclesiastical and globalist ruins.
Meanwhile, beams of light are penetrating the darkness of the long night as dawn approaches, providing inspiration and hope.
The recent bloody nose meted out by Irish voters to their godless ruling class, for instance, was universally celebrated: an epic double-referendum victory for motherhood and the family against the woke designs of an Establishment seeking to erase women and marriage. Even the sure knowledge that the government, non-governmental organisations and media will regroup and try again to force their will on the people (as they did successfully in 2009 after losing the first Irish referendum vote on the EU Nice Treaty in 2008), cannot dampen spirits buoyed by such an overwhelming affirmation of love and life. For those who missed the news, this summary from England's Coalition for Marriage explains the nature and scale of the remarkable result:
In a landslide defeat for the Irish Government, last Friday [8 March] voters rejected plans to undermine constitutional protections for marriage. The Government proposed changing the Constitution to equate marriage with other “durable relationships”. It also recommended scrapping national safeguards that specifically protect stay-at-home mums (the ‘care amendment’).
But in resounding defeats for the liberal campaign, 68% voted against the ‘durable relationships’ amendment and 74% against the care amendment. The latter was the largest ‘no’ vote in Irish history and saw the plans defeated in every constituency.
This was despite ‘yes’ votes being strongly backed by the Irish Government and large swathes of the Irish Press, and despite being predicted to win in every major poll.
The results are a victory for common sense. Protections for marriage would have been applied to any ‘durable relationship’, as if marriage is simply one amongst many good options. It could have included anything from cohabitation to polygamy. But we know real marriage is unrivalled. It is the only “durable” relationship type and is consistently shown to be best for adults and children.
The Irish "victory for commonsense" came amid similar drubbings now being dished out routinely by European and Scandinavian voters fed up to the gills with the unhinged status quo (again in Portugal as I write!). It also followed hard on the heels of another burst of brightness across the pond. During a case involving three families suing a medical facility that accidentally destroyed frozen embryos, the Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos resulting from successful IVF procedures would be viewed as unborn children.
Moreover, only one of the Supreme Court’s nine justices dissented: a pro-IVF plea that was countered by the blinding light of Chief Justice Tom Parker's superlative "concurring opinion"; carried in this edition along with the sordid truth about the IVF sacred cow that the court's decision providentially placed in the public spotlight. This summary report underlines the enormity of the victory; not only for commonsense, but life itself:
“The parties to these cases have raised many difficult questions,” wrote Justice Jay Mitchell in the court’s opinion, “including ones about the ethical status of extrauterine children, the application of the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution to such children, and the public-policy implications of treating extrauterine children as human beings.” However, the court determined that it did not need to answer each question raised, stating that ultimately “the relevant statutory text is clear: the Wrongful Death of a Minor Act applies on its face to all unborn children, without limitation.”
Alabama’s Wrongful Death of a Minor Act was enacted in 1872 and, according to the court, regards unborn babies as human beings and children. The justices provided extensive examples of definitions of the term “child” throughout the state’s legal history, including two relatively recent decisions — 2011’s “Mack v. Carmack” and 2012’s “Hamilton v. Scott” — which both affirmed that “Alabama’s wrongful-death statute allows an action to be brought for the wrongful death of any unborn child.” But, the court noted, “Even if the word ‘child’ were ambiguous … the Alabama Constitution would require courts to resolve the ambiguity in favour of protecting unborn life.”
The court ultimately determined that “the text of the Wrongful Death of a Minor Act is sweeping and unqualified. It applies to all children, born and unborn, without limitation. It is not the role of this Court to craft a new limitation based on our own view of what is or is not wise public policy.” They added, “That is especially true where, as here, the People of this State have adopted a Constitutional amendment directly aimed at stopping courts from excluding ‘unborn life’ from legal protection.”
Joseph Backholm, Family Research Council’s senior fellow for Biblical Worldview and a lawyer, commented to The Washington Stand [22/2/24] , “This is a significant opinion because the legal question in this case requires the court to answer the question of when a person becomes a person.” He continued, “This is not fundamentally a legal question, but the way technology has changed the world requires the legal system to have an answer to the question. As much as progressives would prefer the court to get their answer from a Planned Parenthood brochure, the court is obviously trying to do better than that.”
Acclaiming the traditional reasoning and judgment of Chief Justice Parker's "concurring opinion," Mr Backholm also commented:
"I think the objection to using ancient wisdom for modern moral reasoning is because presentism, which dominates the political Left, disdains old ideas simply because they are old. Their view of humanity is that everything new is better than everything old simply because it is new. They see us as constantly evolving and therefore constantly improving. These justices don’t share that perspective, so they are trying to find what is good and right, not merely what is new. The fact that the court’s arguments and references are offensive to progressive sensibilities was predictable, but the arguments themselves are an improvement over anchoring human rights in things like ‘emanations from penumbras’ that progressives have been comfortable with in the past. If we are going to pretend to care about human rights, we need to respect where the concept of human rights came from. The Bible is where it came from."
The Alabama ruling was delivered amid rising popular support for at least restricting abortions. An Economist/YouGov poll, conducted 18-20 February among 1,562 adults, found 48% of respondents would support a national ban on abortions after 16 weeks of pregnancy, including 27% who strongly support that restriction. Thirty-six per cent said they would oppose such a ban, while another 16% said they were not sure. The poll came after Donald Trump said that if elected he would sign a 16-week bill. Though hotly disputed and hardly ideal before the daily slaughter, a successful strategy of incremental restrictions is a sizeable shard of light breaking through the pro-abort canopy.
And speaking of Deep State Public Enemy #1, addressing an audience at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville in February, Mr Trump said that if re-elected president he will "… create a new federal task force on fighting anti-Christian bias. … Its mission will be to investigate all forms of illegal discrimination, harassment and persecution against Christians in America." Oof! Take that, demonicdarkness!
Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of the mega First Baptist Church in Dallas, said Trump’s speech was "the most powerfully pro-Christian speech I’ve ever heard from any president. He will win the Christian vote in a landslide!" As he will the election itself (for the second time in row, barring another Big Steal) if they don't assassinate him first, or shut down the country with a devastating false flag event. Quite simply, a candidate who not only threatens to turn off the trillion-dollar spigot of globalist ill-gotten gains but also repeatedly asserts that he will defend the Light of despised Christianity to the hilt, as Trump does, cannot be tolerated. "The radical left…want(s) to tear down crosses where they can, and cover them up with social justice flags. But no one will be touching the cross of Christ under the Trump administration, I swear to you," he declared at the Convention. Easily the most pro-life, pro-Catholic president in history (including Reagan), the present writer for one believes him, all his flaws notwithstanding.
The Invincible Light!
We could go on in the same vein, citing these sorts of biblical bolts now lighting up the dark that overhangs the apostasy within and the death cult without — exposing ever more frequently the benighted heirs of those who "loved darkness rather than the light, for their works were evil":
For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed. But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God. [Jn 3: 19-21].
And that's the thing about the darkness: its very nature intensifies the light. The darker it gets, the more vulnerable its devotees become: leaving haters of the light nowhere to hide before the radiance cast by "whoever lives the truth."
In other words, the darkness causes hellish strife because it does not comprehend the Light, yet it cannot overthrow It!
Yes, it will cause greater suffering still, for "In the world you shall have distress" says the Lord.
"But have confidence," He triumphantly cries: "I have overcome the world." [Jn 16:33]
He has Risen and Conquered indeed! The New Dawn of the New Adam has broken! The Invincible Light of the Eternal Word has overcome the sepulchral darkness of sin and death! Alleluia!
