Love Casts Out Fear

THE EDITOR

The most extraordinary thing in the world is an ordinary man and an ordinary woman and their ordinary children.

- G.K. Chesterton

Today, the great wordsmith would note that hedonistic "new normals" are making it more extraordinary by the day and month!

When he penned that line, so penetrating, true and beautiful, his meaning was of course readily accepted and understood.

No longer. Pervasive, acidic nihilism has dissolved language; corroding words, concepts, and the meaning of "meaning" itself. To the point where we are back at pagan square one: what is "truth"?

The answer to that eternal question — not a "what" but a Who — is as baffling to hearts and minds today as it was to Pilate, who failed to perceive the Truth before him.

Though momentarily enchanted by the Christmas Crib, the Western majority are equally uncomprehending (— if indeed they are not repulsed by annual parodies of the Nativity in St Peter's Square, where this year's contrivance resembles "some car parts, kid toys, and an astronaut," as one tweet truly observed.)

Blind to the Truth — Whose sanctification of the ordinary family makes it extraordinary — sheep without shepherds naturally wonder: what is "ordinary"? "Extraordinary"? What is a "family"? A "child," "man," or "woman"? Only last month the Oxford Dictionary officially redesignated the latter. Previously defined as "a man’s wife, girlfriend or lover," she is now "a person’s wife, girlfriend or female lover." Ditto for man.

As the Coalition for Marriage duly noted, it is the homosexual-effect writ large:

The redefinition of marriage in law led immediately to the redefinition of the words “marriage”, “wife” and “husband”. Now seven years later it has also led to the redefinition of “woman” in the world’s main English dictionary.

At this current rate of inversion (of reality) the powers won't need mandatory vaccines to usher in the detention camps so excitedly touted by New Zealand's drooling PM. The irreligious citizens of the West are sprinting towards that must-have totalitarian accessory of their own volition. Throwing down Divine Commands etched in stone with every stride, they are dashing with them the personal and societal peace guaranteed by those immutable benchmarks of sanctification and salvation.

Hence their blindness to the deeper salvific truth of the Nativity; which familial tableau of selfless love encapsulates that "tranquillity of order" built on holy fear of God.

It is a suicidal trajectory. At once remorseless and regressive: from Christian order to diabolical disorder; from Bethlehem back to Baal and the sacrifice of children on the altar of false gods
[Jer. 19:4-5].

All that remains is the law of the jungle (might is right) cloaked in human positive law; a blunt instrument used to target the diminishing Christian remnant that recognises a Higher law.

As moral and social chaos, not to say delirium, burgeons, this persecution of Christian 'dissidents' ratchets up.

In 2020, America bore the brunt of the well-planned, well-funded ferocity, as the media and authorities sided with rioters. Hitherto a relatively calm enclave, on the pretext of protesting a pro-life legal victory even Poland erupted in orchestrated mayhem nationwide. Screaming mobs, Masses disrupted, churches defaced and desecrated, statues destroyed... There, too, police stood idly by.

Where will it all end?

"There’s no doubt in my mind we are going through a crucible of history," said the honourable General Mike Flynn, himself recently pardoned by President Trump after four hellish years in a Deep State crucible of Barack Obama's making.

"And if we don’t correct what it is that’s happening," he added, referencing the U.S. election heist in particular, "then I hate to really even think what will happen in our country going forward.... This is the greatest fraud that has ever been seen in our history."

Like the fraudulent BLM-Marxists who publicly destroy black lives while claiming they "matter," U.S. election fraud of biblical proportions has telegraphed as never before the ascendancy of atheistic globalist gangsters now acting out everywhere with impunity.

We must pray, hope, be brave ... remember Lepanto! ... but not worry.

From His manger to His cross, Divine Love insisted that we "Be not afraid!"

So leave the godless to intimidate the godless.

The Godly, through love, cast out all human fear [1Jn 4:18].
