In the End ...

THE EDITOR

In the end we find ourselves faced with an ambiguous and contradictory document, which permits everyone to shout victory; even if nobody has won anything. All have been defeated, starting with Catholic morality which emerges profoundly humiliated by the Synod on the Family concluded on October 24th

- Roberto de Mattei

In the end, in other words, "the partisans of error" prevailed. Having first introduced sodomy and sacrilege as matters for positive discussion at a Synod on the Family (victory in itself), the corrosive Final Report sealed their devilish deal as arrogantly forecast by Comrade Kasper. Our "Recycling the Revolution" trilogy kicked-off in August with his boast that, come October, "the same method we had at the Council" would dictate proceedings, effecting the same happy (read ruinous) outcome:

"compromise formulas.... designed to delimit [orthodoxy, creating] a huge potential for conflict, open[ing] the door to a selective reception in either direction."

And so it came to pass. At Synod's end, the revolving 'door' to orthodox, heterodox, or heretical 'reception' was spinning off its hinges. "The door has been opened to the possibility of the divorced and remarried being granted Communion...," Kasper proclaimed, holding aloft paragraphs 84-86. "There have been doors opened...," chirped his German colleague Cardinal Marx in unison. "Catholic Bishops Crack Open Door on Divorce," trumpeted the New York Times.

Dressing up diabolic portals as mere 'doors' to new 'pastoral' possibilities was all in a day's work for the masters of double-speak. How they revelled in their own handiwork. "I’m satisfied," Kasper smirked. "I'm very, very happy," beamed Cardinal Marx.

Happily sated, that is, on two Synods-worth of conniving, manipulation, and deceit. It all produced a final product full of "time bombs" and "back door" portals to undermine Catholic teaching on marriage, divorce, adultery, and reception of Holy Communion while living in an objectively sinful state.

Pastoral "path"? Or "broad way" to perdition?

That, at least, is how Bishop Schneider described the outcome in a scorching denunciation penned for the Rorate Caeli blog:

The new disciples of Moses and the new Pharisees during the last two Assemblies of the Synod (2014 and 2015) masked their practical denial of the indissolubility of marriage and of a suspension of the Sixth Commandment on a case-by-case basis under the guise of the concept of mercy, using expressions such as: 'way of discernment,' 'accompaniment,' 'orientations of the bishop,' 'dialoguewith the priest,' 'forum internum,' 'a more fuller integration into the life of the Church,' a possible suppression of imputability regarding the cohabitation in irregular unions (cf. Final Report, nn. 84-86).

This genuine defender of the Faith was kept far from the Synod, lest he influence the orthodox pretenders who duly caved in and signed on the fuzzy Modernist line. As a measure of the pressure brought to bear on them, Leo Zagami reported a violent papal outburst the press tellingly failed to disclose:

On October 12, at 7 pm, all hell broke loose at the Vatican. The mild Bergoglio went ballistic and had a mild stroke. This occurred after the website l'Espresso posted an open letter addressed to the Pope in which 13 conservative cardinals voiced their objections. At this point Roberto D'Agostino reports from his website Dagospia, the usually mild and peaceful Bergoglio lost it completely, and thundered against the purple conservative prelates stating: "If this is the case, they can leave. The Church does not need them. I will throw them all out!"

And then full of rage, he had a mild stroke. ... (Dago report 13/10/15: vented anger He had a mild illness. A bit 'of tachycardia, a rush of pressure. Nothing serious but symptomatic of a malaise not just physical.') [henrymakow.com]

The following day, in the Synod Hall, Francis rebuked the protest letter signatories, thereby putting all 'dissenters' on notice. Consequently, they fell into line and approved the Final Report: a papal fait accompli that Cardinal Schönborn hailed as a "historical step" which will "allow Pope Francis to move ahead on his path." His "broad way" (of two-faced verbiage) more like! Together with the recent papal evisceration of the annulment process, it consigns the indissolubility of marriage to death by a thousand cuts, opening the 'door-portal' to untold sin and sacrilege.

Hermeneutic of neo-Modernist continuity

The London Spectator captured the plain truth of the matter. Its post-Synod cover featured a caricature of Francis astride a huge wrecking ball, swinging over a pile of rubble! A damning portrayal, it gives Francis way too much credit, of course. His recent predecessors should be on the wrecking ball with him. And their mutual hero, Hans Urs von Balthasar, should be depicted in the crane cabin, holding an operating manual titled Razing the Bastions: his neo-Modernist manifesto that helped set the deconstruction of the Faith in motion.

In any event, the resurgent Vatican II wreckers have every reason to feel smug. Not least the unspeakable Schönborn, who, in all likelihood, brokered a vital compromise over the wording of paras 84-86 between Cardinals Müller and Kasper, via Pope Emeritus Benedict (see ensuing report).

"Mere speculation!" cried indignant neocons in their usual scramble to protect Benedict from all scrutiny. Perhaps. Yet it rings true. The Balthasarian bond uniting Benedict and his own fervent disciples, to include Cardinals Schönborn and Müller, is renowned. It would be far more suprising if such tight-knit liberals did not confer. And by definition, conferring Modernists are conspiratorial Modernists, no matter how 'moderate' or sincere. Some kind of agreement/stitch-up by 'progressive' Balthasarians was, therefore, always on the cards. Cardinal Müller, for one, has ever flattered to deceive. Despite his erstwhile defiance of his heretical German brethren, his erroneous Marian theology, expounded in a work lauded by Benedict (see Tim Matthews herein), puts his eleventh hour backdown in Modernistic perspective.

Just as predictable was the rubber-stamping of the Final Report by those who had voted against the bad bits. Despite paragraphs littered with "highly skilful, elaborated ambiguity," as Bishop Schneider described them which naked deceit Cardinal Pell & Co. had stood four-square against there were no outcries. No ructions. No walkouts. "No guts" (as Fr Crane would say). When it came to the crunch, all 94 paragraphs received the required two-thirds majority vote. And since the Faith is "one," not fractional, this faux consensus favouring both orthodox passages and the small print that undid them put sodomy, adultery and sacrilege up for grabs, and threw families under the Frankfurt School bus.

Peddling Cultural Marxism

Voice of the Family, the international pro-life coalition, declared that 94% of Synod Fathers had voted to undermine parental rights, reflecting, thereby, "the agenda of the international institutions" and "many of the world’s most powerful politicians, to prevent parents from exercising their inalienable right to control their children’s education and formation." The treacherous sentence in paragraph 58 might have been written by Gramsci himself:

The family, while maintaining its primary space in education..., cannot be the only place for teaching sexuality [emphasis added].

"This," protested Voice of the Family, "is directly contrary to the teaching of the Catholic Church, which is that the family can be the only place for teaching sexuality if that is the choice that the parents make." In other words, parents can choose to educate their children in sexual matters entirely at home, or they can involve places of education to assist them (via discreet one-on-one private instruction). It is absolutely wrong to assert that the family "cannot be the only place for teaching sexuality." And yet this false assertion was overwhelmingly endorsed. Of the 265 eligible voters, 251 voted yes and 14 no even though John Paul II's Familiaris Consortio teaches that

Sex education, which is a basic right and duty of parents, must always be carried out under their attentive guidance, whether at home or in educational centres chosen and controlled by them. In this regard, the Church reaffirms the law of subsidiarity, which the school is bound to observe when it cooperates in sex education, by entering into the same spirit that animates the parents. (No. 37)

When orthodox patriots did manage to fit in mention of this Apostolic Exhortation, "the partisans of error" (as Pius X labelled them) duly twisted it. In quoting para 84 of Familiaris Consortio in para 85 of the Final Report, railed Bishop Schneider,

the redactors censured the text, cutting out the following decisive formulation: “The way to the Eucharist can only be granted to those who take on themselves the duty to live in complete continence, that is, by abstinence from the acts proper to married couples”.

Sulphurous Synod

It must be something providential in the Kazakhstan holy water that produces such resolute and outspoken Catholic shepherds as Athanasius Schneider, the retired Archbishop Lenga (see April 2015), and Bishop Schneider's superior, Archbishop Tomash Peta. The latter plainly stated that last year "the 'smoke of Satan' was trying to enter the aula [Synod Hall] of Paul VI," citing the attempt to allow "remarried" divorcees to receive Holy Communion; the claim that cohabitation "is a union which may have in itself some values"; and the "pleading for homosexuality as something which is allegedly normal." He also detected the "smell of Satan... in the interventions of some Synod Fathers" throughout this year. During an interview conducted as Synod II drew to a close, Bishop Schneider stated that Archbishop Peta "spoke these words which no one else has dared to speak":

He laid a finger on the wound. For, it is the spirit of Satan to pervert the Commandments of God, using specifically alluring and beautiful language. This is the language of Satan, smelling of the smoke of Satan. Archbishop Thomas Peta sincerely said it and we have to hope that some of the Synod Fathers awoke.

In the end, they didn't.

Victory through Mary

No matter. While bishops bow low to the prince of this world, the faithful remnant lift up their hearts to the Prince of Peace, entrusting their tears and fears to His Immaculate Mother: the "woman clothed with the sun" who will "crush" the head of "that old serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, who seduceth the whole world" [Rev. 12:1; Gen. 3:15; Rev. 12:9].

At that final reckoning, true to her triumphal promise, the Immaculata will expunge his sodomitic stench and bewitching smoke from Holy Church once and for all! Thus exorcised of the worldly spirit that binds and blinds them, the hirelings will reunite in Catholic heart, mind, and purpose, as true shepherds: rejecting all compromise, and every filthy seduction that would violate in any way, shape, or form the salvific familial truths of Bethlehem; made manifest by God's own, intact, inviolate family.
